Shell Corena P - is a premium quality reciprocating compressor lubricant based on a blend of Shell XHVI and specially selected mineral oils to provide a level of performance approaching that of synthetic oils.

Shell Corena S -  is a premium quality lubricant developed for use in rotary sliding vane and screw air compressors. It is based on a blend of high viscosity index, solvent refined, mineral oils and carefully selected additives.

    Refrigeration Compressor Oils

    Shell Clavus Oils:

These are highly refined napththenic mineral oils with excellent low temperature properties for use in refrigeration compressors. Their range of special properties helps to ensure a long, maintenance-free life for the refrigeration system as a whole.

Shell Clavus Oils G - are high quality, hydrotreated naphthenic mineral oils without additives. Specific selection of the base oils and advanced refining techniques give a range of oils specially suited for the efficient lubrication of refrigeration compressors that use halogenated hydrocarbons or ammonia as refrigerant. Also used in Air conditioning appliances and commercial and domestic refrigerator systems with high, moderate or low evaporation temperatures.

    Manufacturing Fluids

Electric Discharge Machining Fluids (EDM Fluids)

Two products covering requirements of all oil-based spark erosion machines.

    Gear and Bearing Lubrication

    Shell Omala Oils:

These are premium quality, lead-free, extreme-pressure oils designed, primarily, for the lubrication of heavy duty industrial gears (helical, bevel and spur gear boxes). Their high load carrying capacity and anti-friction characteristics combine to offer superior performance in gears and other industrial applications. Formulated from high viscosity index, solvent refined, base oils, they incorporate a special sulphur-phosphorus additive to ensure extreme pressure performance and are significantly better than leaded gear oils.

    Shell Vitrea Oils:

These are premium quality, straight mineral oils that have been refined to provide a high natural viscosity-index, good oxidation stability and improved demulsibility. They also have good low temperature flow characteristics.

    Shell Tivela Oils W:

A range of high performance, synthetic gear lubricants based on polyalkylene glycol, anti-oxidants and corrosion-inhibitors. They have an extremely high, natural viscosity-index (without the use of VI improver) low pour points, high load-carrying capacity and they display exceptionally low frictional characteristics that make for more efficient power transmission. Although they are particularly suited for worm gear lubrication, Shell Tivela Oils W may be considered as multipurpose gear lubricants.  Due to their high oxidation and thermal stability and absence of deposit-forming tendency, they may also be used as bearing and circulation lubricants in applications such as plastic calendars, where high bulk oil temperatures of up to 200_C may be experienced.

They offer excellent steel-on-steel scuffing protection and steel-on-bronze anti-wear characteristics but are NOT recommended for lubrication of gears manufactured from bronze alloys containing aluminium.

    Hydraulic Fluids

Shell Tellus S and T Oils:

They are a range of premium quality oils, designed and developed for use in hydraulic power transmission and control systems. They are based on high viscosity-index, highly refined base oils. In addition to marked anti-wear characteristics, a carefully balanced additive combination gives enhanced oxidation resistance, corrosion protection, pour point, air release and anti-foam properties. Shell Tellus Oils also exhibit superior filter ability and excellent demulsibility. The Tellus portfolio is universally acknowledged as the market leader in the field of industrial hydraulic and fluid power lubrication.

    Turbine Oils

    Shell Turbo Oils T:

They have been specially formulated to satisfy the demanding requirements of modern, high-output steam turbines including geared units. They are also recommended for water turbines and selected industrial-type gas turbines. They are blended from highly refined mineral oils of turbine quality and contain anti-oxidant and anti-rust additives. Shell Turbo Oils T show oxidation stability of the highest order, excellent demulsibility and resistance to foaming, without the use of anti-foam additives, combined with the ability to release entrained air quickly. These properties are retained during prolonged service.

Shell also offers speciality fluids where fire resistance, biodegradability and food safety are important.

    Transformer Oils

    Shell Diala Oil B:

This oil exceeds the requirements of the European standard IEC 296:1982 Class I, is uninhibited and is to be used in applications where its natural high oxidation resistance is sufficient. Manufactured from selected medium viscosity-index naphthenic feed- stocks, it exhibits outstanding low temperature properties without recourse to pour point depressants.  Shell Diala Oil B does not contain PCBs.

    Heat Transfer Oils

    Shell Thermia Oil B:

This is a low-viscosity heat transfer fluid based on highly refined, high-viscosity index, paraffin base oils. Its low volatility and high thermal stability make it suitable for use in indirect closed heat-transfer systems operating at bulk oil temperatures reaching up to 320_C, provided that there is adequate pump circulation to ensure that local film temperatures on the heater surfaces do not exceed 340_C. At 320_C, the vapour pressure is less than atmospheric pressure. The high-pressure pipework and heat exchangers, normally used with vapour phase heat transfer fluids, are therefore not necessary.  Shell Thermia Oil B has a relatively low viscosity with good temperature/viscosity characteristics that ensure high heat transfer coefficients and consistent properties over a wide temperature range. It also exhibits good corrosion protection for exposed metal surfaces.

  • Industrial Greases

    Shell Alvania Greases EP (LF)
